Me looking awesome – no stop laughing!

Hi there! I’m Matt Davies and this is my personal blog about pretty much anything and everything – usually items that interest me or can help others.  I’ve been a little lax with updating this blog over the past few months, but that’s now changed and I’m looking for lil’ bits to put on it.

Anyhow, let me tell you a little about myself…

I’m a 35 year old Welsh ‘boyo’ living in sunny Llanelli (well okay not that sunny really, but it helps create the illusion to folks not native to the UK that Llanelli is the California of Wales – well in my head it does).   I’ve worked with computers in some shape or form for most of my life and as part of my job I get to fix some of the weirdest and most wonderful problems that the IT industry has ever come across.  I like a challenge, what can I say?  Okay some could argue stupidity but lets leave that for now.

In my spare time I enjoy socialising, finding new gadgets and toys to make life easier for everyone, watching an insane amount of TV series (currently Person of Interest is my flavour of choice), exercise, music, reading, walking and of course I do like to dabble with the odd game.

My music tastes vary and I can’t say I find one genre more appealing than the next, but favourite artists would have to include the Stereophonics, Foo Fighters, Garbage, Daft Punk, Deadmau5, Justice and Bryan Adams.  The only music I’m not a massive fan of is death metal – purely as I can sound like that clearing my throat whilst hitting my head against a plastic drum.

Reading, aside from technical guides, I love to read a lot of fiction or fantasy (mucho love for Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit).  ‘The Dwarves’ series had me hooked from the word go, as does anything by David Gemmell, Terry Pratchet, Mark Tufo or Jonathan Maberry.  I also have a fascination with zombies and follow ‘The Walking Dead’ graphic novels.

My gaming tastes include MMo’s (Guild Wars 2 currently), FPS’s (namely Battlefield 3 at the time of typing) and little niche indie games (Terraria, Minecraft, Project Zomboid and Prison Architect).  Indie titles keep me interested as it’s always nice to know that you are supporting developers that are putting the same amount of love into their title as you would expect out.

Hope you enjoy the read.
